she stole my heart lokix Thief! reader part 1

It was a rainy day out in New York, you were wearing a worn out  t-shirt covered with a hoodie and a pair of jeans.  You head down the normally gloomy alley way you have called part of your home ever since you were young.  The shoes you wore were sinking into the mud as you walked making each step you take slightly harder to go forward. You soon get to the entrance of an old  empty factory and head inside taking off your muddy shoe and your hoodie but keeping on your wet socks. Inside there was a bunch of old furniture that looked like it was meant to be in a junkyard than here and battery powered lights light up the place.    It was quite right now as your two roommates Joey  and Ruby were gone. They were probably getting dinner right now by searching through dumpsters.  You met them when you first arrived in New York when you were like 8 or so and they helped you get away from an angry shopkeeper at a farmer’s market who was chasing you after you stole an apple.  They were 16 at the time and living here in this old factory that no one used anymore since then they have become your family and they taught you everything you know.  That was 10 years ago.  You thoughts were interrupted by a peppy sounding voice.

“ Hey  is that you (f/n)?”  

You smiled as she heard that question. It was a question you heard often from your roommates because every time you saw them you looked completely different. You were a shapeshifter, you could take on any human form and you could only do that after touching the person and then their appearance is stored in your brain and you could use it whenever you needed to but sadly your clothes never changed so you always try to be careful on what you choose to change to.   You had these powers as long as you could remember, your appearance had changed so often you had no idea what you really looked like now. You only remember glimpses of the way you once where. Currently you had dark skin, brown eyes, and you hair was in bun.  “Yes it’s me Ruby.”  You said to the girl with long dark red hair in torn up jeans and a black t-shirt.  Next to her was Joey, who had slightly lighter skin than the kind you had right now, he wore cargo pants, and a t-shirt.

“Prove it.” He asked.  

You hold out your wrist to him and show a beaded bracelet. It was something Ruby had made for you and you all used it to show that it was you. They both feared that others would find your home. “See?”                                          

Joey smiled. “I see. We got dinner.”

Ruby held a fast food bag. “We got some fries, a few chicken nuggets and we found half a pizza but it was too soggy to eat.” She set the bag down.  “What did you get while we were gone.”
You emptied your pockets and pulled out a wallet. It was a plain old black leather wallet, once you opened it you pulled out several dollar bills and some change.  You were an excellent pick pocket but lately it has been getting harder and harder to do it but today was a good day. “We might have enough to actually go to a restaurant tomorrow. “ You moved the money to a jar that looked almost full.

“Lets do it.” Joey said.  You nodded and took a chicken nugget from the fast food bag.

Ruby smiled and munched on some fries. “Tomorrow I’ll be getting some new clothes from one of my friends. All kinds of clothes and some other stuff too.”

Joey took a seat on the beat up couch. “Great. I could use some new stuff.”

“We all could you some new stuff.” You chuckled. “Maybe some new things to decorate this place.”  

Ruby played with her hair a bit and yawned. “I don’t know about you but I’m tired. How about we hit the hay early.”

You picked a blanket off the floor. “Okay I call the bean bag tonight.” You headed over to the bean bag and  sat down. You saw Joey and Ruby snuggle up on the couch  and smile before you fell asleep.

The next morning you changed your appearance, making yourself look like a blonde  with blue eyes and you had a bit of a tanish skin.  On your left shoulder was now a small weirdly shaped birthmark.   You were use to any scars or birthmarks that appear  you get once you change your appearance, it makes every different appearance that was stored in your head  unique.  You looked around after you woke up and found a napkin with a note written on it. It said:

Going to get the clothes and things from my friend, Joey is going to run errands. From Ruby.

You read the note over and go other to your small pile of clothes that you and Ruby had shared for years since you both were about the same size.  You looked through the clothes checking to see if any had holes or stains and picked a pair of light blue jeans, a pink shirt and you some how found a matching headband. You moved it into your blonde hair and smiled.  You slipped your wallet into your pocket and decided to head outside and try to pickpocket someone. Your shoes were still covered in mud but you hit them on the floor to knock it off.

A few minutes later you were off and walking down the street, avoiding any puddles from last night’s rain. You look around trying to find a good target, you spot a man in a suit with a small pin on it. You couldn’t really tell as he was a distance away.  You look around acting as if you were trying to think of which way to go letting him pass you.You give him a few seconds before you turn and follow behind slowly picking up your pace. You were about to pickpocket him when suddenly from behind you were slammed into a brick wall.  You turn your head to see a different man than your target and now you got a closer look at the pin that both this man and the target wore.  It looked like a skull with some octopus tentacles from it.  The man who shoved you against the wall held your arms still and made you face the man you were going to pickpocket.  “Hey let go of me you creep.” You said.

The man in front of you had an expressionless face. “(f/n), we have been watching you for a long time and we have a proposition for you.”

“What is it?” You asked.

“If you steal some info off of a certain someone’s computer than I and the group I work with will hook you and your friends up with all you desire.”

“And if I refuse?”

“Then I can’t guarantee your friends will be safe.” He responded. You looked at the ground thinking for a minute, knowing that you need to make the right decision since he was threatening your friends.   You look up at him.

“Fine.” You answered and the man holding your arms still released you. The other man who you have been speaking with handed you a large envelope. You look at it and when you look up the two had disappeared.   Opening the envelope you pull out a picture, a letter and a usb.  

You read the letter first:

On the picture provided is the target you will be getting the information from,  this will be tricky he has a AI and a team that can stop you.  Follow the instructions belong to find the information needed on the target’s computer. Call the number below once you have the information on the USB.


You finished reading it for now figuring you would read  the instructions once you got where ever the target kept their computer.  You look at the picture and recognized it. It was Tony Stark.  Of course you would be stealing from the billionaire, this may be really tricky.   You place all the items back in the envelope and kept walking around the city.  The wind blew in your blonde hair as you wondered how those two men knew about you. How did you know that you were you?  Would they really go after your friends if you didn’t do what they told you? You decided not to think about it.  While you were walking down the sidewalk you noticed Tony Stark in the distance, he was with two very muscular men who you recognized from the paper and T.V. On the right of him was a blonde with longish sort of hair and the one on the left was a man with raven black hair. Looking at him made your heart skip a beat.  You knew who they both were, Thor and Loki. The two were from Asgard and brothers if you remember correctly.  You were surprised to see the two not in any armor but in more casual attire, you guessed that even supers have to have other clothes.  You take a glance at Loki and wondered why he wasn’t in jail. He did destroy most of New York.  As you walked by the you noticed Tony was carrying a few things, you decided to use this as an advantage to obtain his appearance, maybe you could do Loki and Thor too. You still had your envelope in your hand so you had to be careful. As Tony got close to you not paying attention as he spoke with the Asgardians you bumped into him causing you both to land on the ground, all the stuff Tony carried scattered around.

“Sorry this is my fault.” You said as you started to pick up this stuff and very sneakily took Tony’s wallet and put it in your pocket.  

“No it’s my fault.” Tony replied. You handed him his things and your fingertips touched his briefly and that little touch was all you needed to get his appearence.   Thor offered you a hand up.

“Thank you.” You said to him.

Thor smiled. “You are quite welcome m’lady. I hope you are alright.”

“I’m fine no harm done.” You replied and started walking. “I better get going.” The three of them nodded and started walking but you noticed that Loki kept looking at you. Did he notice you took the wallet? Will he come after you? Those thoughts kept circling in your head as you inspected the wallet now finding several credit cards, key cards and some cash.  You normally don’t take credit cards but you decided to keep Tony’s  and figured you would go on a shopping spree with them. He is a billionaire after all, he could afford it.

You put it back in your pocket and head back home. Joey and Ruby were already there with a few garbage bags full of stuff. “Hey guys.”

Ruby smiled. “(f/n) that you?” She looks at your bracelet and nods. “Come see what we got.” You nod and the three of you sort through the clothes in the bags and your own clothes and got rid of the stuff you didn’t want or need.  In the bags you found a clutch and put the items from your envelope in them.  Joey noticed you doing this.

“What are those?”  He asked you. At first you looked down at the ground not wanting to tell them but you knew they would probably tell you if it was the other way around.  You showed them the note and the picture and told them the story of what happened.

“So thats what happened. I need a way to get into Avenger’s tower.” You said to them.

“Tony is having a party tomorrow night.” Ruby said.

“How do you know that?” You asked her surprised.

She smiled and pulled out an invitation. “My friend and her boyfriend couldn’t go so they gave me the invitation. Want to be my plus one?”

You nodded. “Yes.”  

Joey looked slightly worried.  “Are you sure? What if you both get caught? I don’t want you both in danger. What if you fail and the men who approached you try to come after us?”

Ruby placed a hand on his shoulder and kissed his cheek. “We will be fine. Now (f/n) said she has a credit card that she is willing to use. Lets go shopping, then out to dinner and the three of us can plan this robbery,”  

You nod grabbing some of the new men clothes from the bag to put on. “Yeah sounds like a plan.”
